Parkinson's Disease Clinic and Research Center

This study is to determine whether abnormalities of blood and spinal fluid proteins can be detected in patients with Parkinson's disease. If identified, information learned from this study could be used to help confirm a diagnosis of PD or to measure the effect of a new treatment on the progression of the disease. 

Eligibility:

• Classic PD with typical response to dopaminergic treatment. 
• The study requires subjects to drink heavy water (D20, not radioactive) for 7-12 days, and to undergo blood draws at the beginning and end of the study, and a lumbar puncture.
