Study Title:

Functional MRI Study of Working Memory

 

*Please note - this study is done at the Helen Wills Neuroscience Institute on the UC Berkeley campus.

Eligibility:

  • Patients with mild/moderate Idiopathic Parkinson's disease who have been taking medication for PD and willing to hold meds for one session
  • Must be fluent in English, right-handed, non-smoker, and have normal color vision
  • The study involves 2 sessions (ON and OFF medications), scheduled at least a week apart. The OFF session takes about 3-4 hours and the ON session takes 4-5 hours. For each, there is about 1 hour in the MRI scanner, of which participants perform tasks in the scanner for about 40 minutes. The remainder of the time is for ~1.5 hr of clinical/neuropsychological testing, plus breaks, transitions, and paperwork/consents.
  • Participants will be compensated for their time and travel
